Syntax:LPAD(<character string>, <length_of_resulting_string> [,<padding_string>])

RPAD(<character string>, <length_of_resulting_string>  [,<padding_string>])







SQL> SELECT

  2     LPAD('ABC',6,'***') result

  3  FROM dual;



RESULT

------

***ABC
