REException | public class REException extends Exception (Code) | | This is the regular expression exception class. An exception of this type
defines the three attributes:
- A descriptive message of the error.
- An integral type code equivalent to one of the statically
defined symbols listed below.
- The approximate position in the input string where the error
occurred.

Method Summary | |
public String | getMessage() Reports the descriptive message associated with this exception
as well as its index position in the string or character array
being compiled. | public int | getPosition() Returns the position, relative to the string or character array being
compiled, where the error occurred. | public int | getType() Returns the type of the exception, one of the constants listed above. |
REG_BADBR | final public static int REG_BADBR(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid use of back reference operator.
|
REG_BADPAT | final public static int REG_BADPAT(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid use of pattern operators such as group or list.
|
REG_BADRPT | final public static int REG_BADRPT(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid use of repetition operators such as using
`*' as the first character.
|
REG_EBRACE | final public static int REG_EBRACE(Code) | | Error flag.
Un-matched brace interval operators.
|
REG_EBRACK | final public static int REG_EBRACK(Code) | | Error flag.
Un-matched bracket list operators.
|
REG_ECTYPE | final public static int REG_ECTYPE(Code) | | Error flag.
Unknown character class name. Not implemented.
|
REG_EEND | final public static int REG_EEND(Code) | | Error flag.
Non specific error. Not implemented.
|
REG_EPAREN | final public static int REG_EPAREN(Code) | | Error flag.
Un-matched parenthesis group operators.
|
REG_ERANGE | final public static int REG_ERANGE(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid use of the range operator, eg. the ending
point of the range occurs prior to the starting
point.
|
REG_ESCAPE | final public static int REG_ESCAPE(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid escape sequence. Not implemented.
|
REG_ESIZE | final public static int REG_ESIZE(Code) | | Error flag.
Compiled regular expression requires a pattern
buffer larger than 64Kb. Not implemented.
|
REG_ESPACE | final public static int REG_ESPACE(Code) | | Error flag.
The regex routines ran out of memory. Not implemented.
|
REG_ESUBREG | final public static int REG_ESUBREG(Code) | | Error flag.
Invalid back reference to a subexpression.
|
REException | REException(String msg, int type, int position)(Code) | | |
getMessage | public String getMessage()(Code) | | Reports the descriptive message associated with this exception
as well as its index position in the string or character array
being compiled.
|
getPosition | public int getPosition()(Code) | | Returns the position, relative to the string or character array being
compiled, where the error occurred. This position is generally the point
where the error was detected, not necessarily the starting index of
a bad subexpression.
|
getType | public int getType()(Code) | | Returns the type of the exception, one of the constants listed above.
